VinExpo 2011

Last week, nearly 50,000 wine trade visitors and exhibitors congregated in Bordeaux attend the France’s premiere wine event. 

Highlights by the numbers:

• Attendance was up by 3% compared to 2009.
• France is #1 in the wine trade with over 30,700 attendees.
• China is at the forefront of global wine sales.
• The United States is the #1 largest wine-consuming nation.

Live Coverage on Bordeaux’s 2010 Vintage!

2010 brought iPads, Wikileaks, Justin Beiber, Vuvuezalas, an oil spill and for wine lovers, it also brought one of the most anticipated vintages of Bordeaux.

Bordeaux’s memorable 2009 vintage threw the wine community in a frenzy – setting new benchmarks of quality, demand and price. Consequently, speculations are high for the 2010 vintage, driving the most influential wine critics, enthusiasts and buyers in waves to En Primeur tastings in Bordeaux. 

If you’re new to the vino culture and community, there is a lot to learn. The wine trade is an entirely different beast in itself – with its own culture and network.
